In 1914, Jamnalalji and his associate Shri Shrikishandas Jajoo established
the Shiksha Mandal for propagating education.
IT had the good fortune of receiving guidance of Gandhiji and other national
leaders. It was very much a part of the national movement.
It also has the honour of being the first educational institution in India to
prepare textbooks in Hindi and Marathi for graduate courses & conducting
examinations in these languages.
Three Commerce Colleges, one each at Wardha, Nagpur and Jabalpur, a Science
College and Agricultural and Rural Institute and a Polytechnic at Wardha, are
all run by the Mandal. These impart education to nearly 10,000 boys and
girls.
Besides these, the Mandal is actively associated with developmental
activities in the rural areas with a view to helping, educating and motivating
local farmers and their family members.
