Are you bored of the mainstream fasting recipes?? Don’t worry, we have got you covered with these two delectable preparations. Add these delicacies to your fast menu that have a spin of their own and enjoy!

1) Banana and Buckwheat Peethe Banana and Buckwheat Peethe

Fasts have some typical preparations, but a little experimentation would be amazing, right? Here is a dish that you can make this fasting season with the Bajaj Induction Frying Pan.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsps ghee
  • 1 tsps dry ginger powder
  • 2 cups buckwheat flour (kuttu atta)
  • ¼ cup crushed jaggery
  • 3 bananas
  • 2 tsps white sesame seeds
  • Oil


Preparation

  • Soak the jaggery in approximately ½ cup of water. Make sure it is soft before you mix it
  • Peel the bananas and mash them well in a bowl
  • Add the ghee to the flour and mix all the ingredients to form a dough. Add water as and how when you need it
  • For a savoury flavour, you can also add some mashed potatoes, rock salt and pepper powder
  • Now make equal balls out of the dough and roll them out into nearly quarter inch thick circles
  • Pour the oil in a frying pan and make quarter inch thick circles out of the dough
  • Fry them and they are ready to serve

2) Makhana Kheer with Custard apple cream makhana

Having the same old Fast food often leads to mouth-watering cravings. Relish your next fast by making this tasty recipe with the Bajaj HB10 Hand Blender and soothe your taste buds.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of deseeded custard apple pulp
  • ½ cup cream
  • 1 litre milk
  • 50 gms Makhana (foxnuts)
  • 2-3 deskinned and powdered green cardamoms
  • ½ cup chopped dry fruits
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Some strands of saffron soaked in little milk 


Method

  • Heat some milk in a pan while you roast the makhanas in a pan. Once they have cooled, blend them in a hand blender
  • Once the milk starts to boil, add the makhana, cardamom powder, saffron and sugar. Let this simmer on a low flame
  • Take a jar and blend the custard apple pulp along with the cream till you see a smooth texture
  • Add this custard apple puree to the kheer and garnish with dry fruits
