- Ripe red tomatoes – 6
- Oil – 2 tsp

- Onion, finely chopped – 1
- Basil leaves, finely chopped – 2 tbsp
- Sugar – ¾ tsp
- Kashmiri red chilli powder – ¾ tsp
- Oregano – ½ tsp

Step 1: First, slit an ‘X’ at the bottom of the tomatoes.

Step 3: Once they are cooled completely, peel the skin of the tomatoes.
Step 4: Take three peeled tomatoes and blend it to a smooth puree in a Bajaj Mixer Grinder. Bajaj Electricals has come up with its new ‘Nutri-Pro’ feature that retains the nutritional content and authentic taste of the ingredients, regardless of the speed levels they are mixed at.
Step 5: Chop the remaining tomatoes by discarding the seeds. Keep them aside.
Step 6: Take a non-stick pan or a heavy-bottomed vessel, add chopped garlic and sauté till it turns golden brown.
Step 7: Add chopped onions and sauté till they change colour.
Step 8: Now add the chopped, deseeded tomatoes and cook well. Mash properly so that it turns mushy.
Step 9: Add the prepared tomato puree and mix well. Add basil, sugar, chilli powder, oregano, chilli flakes and salt.
Step 10: Stir well and bring the sauce to a boil. Cover and let it simmer for at least 5 minutes or till the sauce turns thick.
Step 11: Add the tomato ketchup and butter. Mix properly.
