Environmental Sustainability
Bajaj Electrical Foundation is committed to advancing environmental sustainability through a diverse range of initiatives that create meaningful, long-term impact for the planet and its people. Our environmental interventions span CO₂ reduction programs, large-scale tree plantation, waste upcycling, and the promotion of renewable energy solutions, including solar electrification.
Our initiatives are strategically aligned to enhance biodiversity, support carbon sequestration, and enable cleaner, more sustainable communities. Through responsible environmental stewardship, we continue to contribute towards long-term ecological resilience and improved quality of life.
Improved Cookstove Projects
Bajaj Electricals Foundation’s flagship initiatives - the Swasth Ghar Improved Cookstove Project and the Eco Jyoti Improved Cookstove Project, reflect our commitment to driving meaningful and sustainable impact. Through these initiatives, 8,000 improved cookstoves have been distributed across the Karauli and Sawai Madhopur districts of Rajasthan, and 6,000 cookstoves in Jawhar, Maharashtra. The projects aim to reduce firewood consumption, mitigate indoor air pollution, and lower CO₂ emissions, thereby addressing critical environmental and health challenges. Beyond environmental benefits, the initiatives contribute significantly to improving the quality of life in rural communities. Through focused and responsible action, Bajaj Electricals Foundation continues to work towards a more sustainable future—one that supports a healthier planet and enhanced well being for all.

Project Nature Restoration
We actively engage our employees in tree plantation and urban forestation initiatives, fostering a strong culture of environmental responsibility across the organisation. Working in collaboration with local community based organisations and NGOs, we amplify the reach and impact of these efforts. Our focus remains on planting native tree species that are well suited to the local climate and ecosystem, ensuring long term survival while preserving ecological balance. The urban forestation projects are implemented across educational institutions, public spaces, and community areas. Over the past three years, we have planted over 1,50,000 trees, enhancing green cover and contributing meaningfully to a more sustainable and greener India.

Solar Electrification
Our solar electrification projects address energy poverty and environmental sustainability by providing clean, reliable, and affordable electricity to underserved communities. In collaboration with local stakeholders, NGOs, and government agencies, we install solar panels, energy storage systems, and distribution networks tailored to community needs. This initiative improves healthcare, education, and overall quality of life. To date, we have successfully implemented solar electrification at 16 Anganwadi centres, 4 government schools, and 1 primary healthcare centre, benefiting over 1,300 students. These projects ensure reliable power for lighting, cooling, and essential services, transforming learning and healthcare environments.

Kalanand
The Kalanand Arts Grant Programme supports emerging Indian artists by providing financial aid and recognition. Open to both formally educated and self-taught artists, it helps them pursue their passion and build careers. The programme also offers a platform for artists to showcase and sell their work through an annual exhibition.
Balanand & Samanand
The Balanand programme fosters creativity in students aged 9-12 by integrating arts-based value education, encouraging self-expression through painting, music, poetry, and more. It enhances creative skills, promotes mindfulness, and raises environmental awareness using recycled materials. It also empowers students to think innovatively. The Samanand programme trains teachers to implement Balanand’s creative learning methods, fostering inclusive, holistic education for all students.
Sadanand
Sadanand connects Kalanand artists with senior citizens in old age homes, creating shared artistic experiences that foster connection, happiness, and compassion. Implemented across Maharashtra, this programme brings joy to both generations, enhancing emotional well-being and promoting intergenerational understanding.
Women Empowerment
Bajaj Electricals foundation is taking meaningful steps to empower women artisans and promoting sustainability through innovative initiatives. One key project is the development of a digital platform that provides rural women artisans in Kutch, Gujarat with access to wider markets, to sell handcrafted products made from upcycled plastic waste, enhancing their financial stability. The foundation is also supporting an upcycling initiative in Pune, where women from low-income backgrounds are learning traditional charkha and handloom techniques to transform discarded plastic into beautiful products. Partnering with organizations that ethically source plastic waste, these initiatives fosters skill development and supports a cleaner environment.
