Rural Electrification

With years of experience in the Luminaires and EPC segment, Bajaj Electricals is already an established brand in urban India. Furthermore, BEL has also taken the gift of electrification to rural and remote areas, and is making a mark there due to its broad portfolio of work. Rural electrification is used for lighting and household purposes as well as for mechanization of many farming operations, such as threshing, milking, and hoisting grain for storage. In areas facing labour shortages, electrifying parts of the farming operations also allows for greater productivity at reduced cost.

Bajaj Electricals has executed orders under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Viyutikaran Yojana. Over 6 Lakhs BPL (below poverty line) homes have been provided with the necessary metering kit and one 11W CFL Energy Saving Lamp, thus lighting up remote villages of West Bengal, Orissa and Chhattisgarh. Apart from this, Bajaj is also doing rural electrification in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.

Electricity is a basic need of life, and Bajaj believes in fulfilling this need wherever it's required. Rural electrification is just another step to realise this idea.
